Fritillaria

About the Fritillaria

The formal name for the Fritillary, Fritillaria, derives from the Latin term for a dice-box, fritillus. It refers to the flower’s shape and to the colour pattern that characterises various types. The plant belongs to the family of lilies (Liliaceae).

Care advice

water regularly and place in a light spot in the living room. Do not cut away yellowing leaves but leave to die away. Fritillaries require rich and moist soil, and can successfully be left to run wild in the garden, in a light but sheltered spot where the soil is moist and nutritious.
