Narcissus

About the narcissus

Narcissus belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family and comes in many types and colours. Most wild species are found in Spain and Portugal, while most production for flower or bulb takes place in England and the Netherlands.

Care advice

The plant grows best in a light, not too warm spot in the living room. Moderate watering will prevent the plant from growing too long and toppling over. It is also very suitable as a terrace or balcony plant. A few degrees of frost is not a problem. Most Narcissus species can be planted out in the garden (open ground) and allowed to run wild. Wait for the leaves to die away completely before transferring the bulbs to open ground. The Narcissus will grow and flower in spring for many more years.
