Scilla peruviana

About the Scilla peruviana

Scilla peruviana, or Caribbean Jewel, is a plant from the asparagus family (Asparagaceae). Despite its name, the plant is actually native to the western part of the Mediterranean region.

The Caribbean Jewel can produce a large number of flower clusters per pot. The flowers are of a clear blue colour and will bloom for three weeks or more.

Care Advice

The Scilla can cope with light frost (maximum of -2 degrees), so in addition to its role as an indoor plant it can also be placed outdoors in early spring. Water regularly, but keep well-drained. During the flowering period, make sure not to let the pot dry out. We recommend a cool spot with sufficient light to draw maximum enjoyment from this marvellous plant.
